Philosphy of Care

I received my medical degree from the University of the Punjab, Pakistan in 2002 and went on to complete an internship at Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi, Pakistan in 2003. From there, I traveled to Kent, UK and completed a residency in general medicine at Hull & East Yorkshire National Health Trust in 2006. Later that year I moved on to Unity Health System in Rochester, NY, where I completed my residency in internal medicine.

Through the years, I have developed my approach to medicine, which I call the A,B,C's of patient care.

A) Availability-Making myself available to my patients, whether that means coming in early or staying late to treat acute care patients.

B) Behavior- Interacting with my patients and getting to know them personally, so they feel comfortable opening up and discussing their concerns.

C) Competence- Staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and information to best treat my patients and seeking help for them when additional resources may be needed.

Personal Summary

I have always had an interest in farming, stemming from my youth in Pakistan. That was part of what drew me to the Yakima area. My wife and I enjoy getting outdoors cycling and hiking. We have spent a great deal of time recently exploring the Yakima Valley. It's cozy here. The weather is not too hot or too cold and people are very friendly. This is a place where I believe I can build a practice and grow old with my patients. I feel fortunate that I can get to work right away. I want to start building relationships and getting to know my patients so I can begin working with them to improve their quality of life.
